This study aims to assess validity and reliability of Peabody Developmental Motor Scales-2 (PDMS-2) on Turkish 36–47 month-old children and to analyze the children’s motor development in terms of gender and age variables. PDMS-2 is a scale developed by Folio and Fewell (2000) for the purpose of determining the motor development levels of children. The study group was consisted of 36–47 month-old 191 children receiving an education from preschools, which are under the control of National Education Directorate and located in central districts of Ankara in 2016–2017 school year. In the adaptation study of PDMS-2, content validity based on expert opinions, confirmatory factor analysis with the intent of collecting evidences regarding construct validity, Cronbach’s alpha coefficient for internal consistency to determine the reliability and test-retest coefficients to increase the evidences for reliability were analyzed. The findings obtained from the study shows that PDMS-2 can be used as a valid and reliable evaluation tool on Turkish children. Also, “Independent Samples t Test” was used to analyze 36–47 month-old children’s motor developments in terms of gender and age variable. Based on the analyses, it can be said that children’s gross and fine motor developments become different according to their gender and age.
