Özet

The aim of the study is to compare the recreation programs of some United States universities with those of Turkish universities’ and make an assessment about their standards, considering the need for raising qualified and educated recreation leaders in Turkey and effective qualifications for raising recreation leaders. In this framework, recreation undergraduate programs of 19 Turkish universities were examined and compared with the recreation undergraduate programs of some universities.in the United States of America. In conclusion, it has been found out that recreation education programs at Turkish Universities are more or less compatible, yet, there are some differences in the recreation programs examined at the universities in the USA.
