Objective: To evaluate the self-control of nursing students. Methods: The descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted from April to October, 2017, at the Nursing Department of Ankara University, Ankara, Turkey, and comprised nursing students of either gender aged 0.05). Age, class, place of residence, academic grade -point average, smoking habit, economic status and family type showed no significant differences (p 0.05). Conclusion: Gender, absence from school, and negative life experiences significantly affected self-control of the nursing students.
