The cervical enlargement (Intumecentia cervicalis) formed by the cervical and thoracic spinal nerves emerging from the spinal cord in order to form the brachial plexus has been studied in pig. In the study, eight adult pigs of different ages and sexes were used. On the cervical enlargement, the width of each segment, and the diameter and length of the ventral branches have been measured. Connection between the cerviocothoracic ganglion (Ganglion cervicothoracicum) and the brachial plexus has been observed. Finally, a morphometric study on the spinal cord and the cervicothoracic ganglion has been carried out.
