Özet

This study aims to determine the writing mistakes of students in German preparatory classes in the School of Foreign Languages of Ankara University and thus developing better techniqes in teaching writing skills.

In this study students’writing materials were collected in certain periods throughout two semesters and this data were grouped and assessed under certain headings.The researcher has not intervened in any of the lesson techniques and materials in the foreign language teaching process throughout the year. The answers were evaluated by SPSS Statistical Analyse Program and their percentages and assessments were made.

According to the results obtained from this data, it was fixed that most of the mistakes in the second language were made from the interference of the mother tongue. It is aimed to solve these problematic points by using mistake solving teaching methods and complementary education.
