Özet

In emerging cognitive radio, spectrum sensing with good quality is important. Pilot tone detection method is one of the most effective spectrum sensing methods. In DTV (Digital TV) pilot detection, total energy can be calculated using only the pilot signal amplitudes in the frequency domain, instead of total energy of the 6 MHz DTV channel. Therefore, significant energy saving can be achieved. However, if the pilot signal suffers from deep fading, detection may not even be possible at all. In this study, with an innovative approach, improvement in spectrum sensing quality besides the energy efficiency is shown by detailed simulations by taking advantage of the cooperative structure and the Goertzel algorithm in the case of pilot signal narrow band energy detection and very low probability of deep fading of the pilot signal.
