A decentralized power adjustment scheme based on non-cooperative game theory in a dense heterogeneous femtocell network is studied. Transmission power of the femtocell base stations are adjusted independently in a self-organizing manner to maximize the corresponding utility function, which consists of the signal-to-interference plus noise ratio and the transmission power of the femtocell base stations. Simulation results show that the proposed non-cooperative game theory based power adjustment scheme reduces the energy consumption dramatically while improving the system performance in terms of outage probability. Besides, the fairness of the network is increased.
