Özet

This study was conducted on titanite minerals in metamorphic rocks collected from Akdağmadeni (Yozgat City) in the Central Anatolia region. The basement rocks in this region are intruded by various intrusive rocks. The region is rich in contact and regional metamorphic rocks. In this study, hornfels, migmatite and amphibolite rocks were sampled. After detailed mineralogical and petrographic studies were carried out on the rocks, the Raman characteristics of the titanite minerals were emphasized. As the formation temperatures of rocks increase, an increase in Raman shift values is also observed. The titanite main peak, normally seen around 600 cm-1, increases up to 621 cm-1 depending on the temperature. In regional metamorphic rocks where the rock has been exposed to high temperature and pressure conditions for a long time, it has been observed that the Raman intensity values of titanite minerals increase from 1100 to 8000. As a result, an increase in Raman shift values is observed depending on the temperature, while there is a significant increase in intensity values in case of long-term exposure to high temperature/pressure conditions.
