Özet

In this study, the translation of the Holy Qur'an into Sanskrit is examined through Hindu scholar Gunderao’s rendering of Sūrat al-Fātiḥa. A semantic analysis is conducted on the expressions used for Islamic terms such as God (Allah), the attributes of God, the Day of Judgment, resurrection, the straight path, blessings, wrath, and misguidance, with particular focus on their reflections within the Indian religious and philosophical tradition. This research paper, which represents the first example of its kind in the Turkish academic literature to the best of our knowledge, aims to contribute to a greater emphasis on the Indian region in the context of Qur'anic studies and to a broader perspective on Hindu-Muslim relations.
