Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine academic, social, and economical problems of postgraduate students who are at Ankara University Institute of Educational Sciences related to postgraduate education. The study universe consists of 145 postgraduate students who attended Ankara University Institute of Educational Sciences in 2001-2002 Academic Year. By this research, social and economical problems of these students are tried to determine according to some factors for example being a student at different department, being on lecture phase or being on thesis phase. For the analysis of datum, percentage, frequency, and Varyans Analysis (ANOVA) Technique has been used. The students are asked 33 statements which are pointed out as problems of postgraduate education. According to the research data, the students agree with 2 statements completely, 9 statements much, 17 statements middle degree, 4 statements little. Accordingly, they agree with 29 statements middle degree, much and completely. Out of 33 statements, 3 statements differentiate according to being different department and 10 statements differentiate according to being on lecture phase or being on thesis phase.
