Abstract

Predator Coccinellidae species of Dysaphis devecta Walk, gall-making aphid of apple and their incidence ratio were investigated during 2002 in Ankara in this study. Rosy Leaf-curling aphid, D. devecta is an important pest of apple in Ankara. 5 species and 1 subspecies from the family Coccinellidae were detected as the species feeding on D. devecta. These species were: Adalia bipunctata (L), A. fasciatopunctata revelierei (Muls.), Coccinella septempunctata L., Exochomus quadripustulatus (L.), Oenopia conglobata (L.) and Scymnus subvillosus (Goeze). Adalia bipunctata was the most commonly found predator among the coccinellid species and this was followed by A. fasciatopunctata revelierei while C. septempunctata was the less commonly found species. It was detected that coccinellids were present at maximum ratio in May, but this was lowered by mid June. Coccinellid intensity has increased again by July.
