Abstract

Angioleiomyoma (vascular myoma) is a rare type of leiomyoma originating from smooth muscle cells and containing thick-walled vessels. There are only a few cases of retroperitoneal angioleiomyoma reported in the literature. Herein, we present the ultrasonography, magnetic resonance imaging and histopathological findings of an asymptomatic patient with a pelvic retroperitoneal angioleiomyoma which radiologically mimicked a uterine mass. © Turkish Society of Radiology 2009.
