Abstract

This study was designed to determine the elderly people's satisfaction with their housing and environment. This subjects involved in the study were from the urban part of Ankara, the capital of Turkey. Totally 630 elderly people were involved in the study: 327 women and 303 men. The elderly people's satisfaction with housing and environment were dealt with in five dimensions: environmental security, social services, planning, socio-cultural environment and housing quality. The effect of sex, age, educational background, marital status, housing property and housing conditions on their satisfaction were also discussed.
