Alkali feldspar granites represent one of the major sources that provide raw materials for glass and ceramics industry because of their high feldspar and quartz contents. In addition, also alkali feldspar syenites have potential to become raw material due to their high feldspar and feldspathoid contents. For this reason, alkali feldspar granites within Agacoren Intrusive Suite (AIS) (Kalebalta, Yildirimli, Cerkezusagi, catalcesme, Ibrahimbeyli, Deliler, Ekecik, Sipahiler, Camili, Yaylak, Namlikisla), Hacili Suite (Sanhacili), Cefalik, Behrekdag, Terlemez and alkali feldspar syenites within Bayindir, Hamit and Idisdagi Suites are investigated. This study aims to investigate possible potential of alkali feldspar, plagioclase and quartz minerals within these rocks in glass and ceramic industry as raw materials. These rocks have high alkaline element content and relatively high Fe2O3 values compared to world granites. Fe2O3 values depend on mafic and independent Fe minerals such as magnetite. Feldspars have high K2O (> %14) and low FeO (< %0.05), thus have high feldspar potential in ceramic industry. Alkali feldspar granites within AIS have promising potential as feldspar raw material, they have low reserve due to their occurrence as dykes. Haat, Cefalik, Behrekdag, Terlemez, Bayindir, Hamit and ldisdaga Suites have both good quality and high reserve for feldspar potential.
