A statistical model has been developed for the lakes in Isparta and its environs, Turkey, in order to obtain a quantitative tool for the prediction phase of the environmental impact assessment (EIA) process applied to the man-made activities related to these lakes, namely Eber, Akşehir, Eğridir, Beyşehir and Burdur. In the proposed model, the regression analysis between the normalized phosphorus loading and the eutrophication-related water quality indicators as chlorophyll-a, Secchi depth and hypolimnetic oxygen depletion rate have been made and tested. The application of the model has demonstrated its viability. © 1990, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. All rights reserved.
