As well known, community pharmacists are important resources for health information. Their education, experience and accessibility to public make them important community resources for the health promotion and disease prevention. HIV/AIDS is a growing problem worldwide. The purpose of the study is to determine the level of knowledge and education need of community pharmacists on HIV/AIDS. Randomly selected 150 community pharmacists were surveyed in Ankara. A standard questionnaire was administered to pharmacists in their pharmacies. Results show that although the knowledge on some aspects of HIV/AIDS is fairly good, they have some misconceptions regarding HIV/AIDS transmission. They also maintained they were willing to take part in activities in their pharmacies to prevent HIV/AIDS.
