Özet

Experimental evidence suggests that the cellular damage medicated by free radicals can be involved in the pathology associated with lead intoxication. In the erythrocytes of workers exposed occupationally to lead, significant increase in the activities of the antioxident enzymes was reported (Sugawara et al., 1991; Bechara et al., 1993; Skoczynska et al., 1993; Jiun and Hsien, 1994; Skoczynska and Smolik, 1994). The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of lead at doses of 80 and 160 mg kg(-1) body weight on lipid peroxidation in six-month old New Zealand rabbits.
