Özet

© 2018 by Türkiye Klinikleri.Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a heterogeneous neurodevel-opmental disorder characterized by inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity. Genetic, social and physical factors are thought to be influential in the etiology of ADHD. In this article, it is aimed to review the studies investigating the genetic orientation of ADHD. For this purpose, Pubmed, Google Academic and other online search engines were scanned and the results were combined with the basic information. Genetic linkage studies, candidate-gene association studies, genome-wide association studiesand copy number variation studies were adressed in this review. The challenges of the results on genetical factors could be related with the heterogeneity of the disorder, the effects of epigenetic changes caused by genetic and environmental factors, and the statistical limitations of the studies. In order to overcome these limitations, it is clear that the larger studies should address genetic and environmental factors at the same time.
