BACKGROUND AND PURPOSECerebral microinfarcts (CMI) are associated with intracerebral hemorrhage due to small vessel disease (SVD) in studies not including an ischemic etiologic workup. We aimed to determine their incidence and potential causes in a large ischemic stroke (IS) cohort.
