Özet

Introduction and Aim: In this study, it is aimed to reveal the differences in the perceived freedom in leisure, happiness and brief resilience levels of university students according to various variables and to determine the relationship between university students' perceived freedom in leisure, happiness and brief resilience. Method: The sample group of the study in correlational study consisted of 274 male (66.8%) and 136 female (33.2%) university students, totaling 410 (Mage=21.57±1.82) university students. Individuals participating in the research were given the “Perceived Freedom in Leisure Scale- 25-PFLS” (Lapa & Kaas, 2014), “Oxford Happiness Questionnaire Short Form-OHQ-SF” adapted to Turkish by Doğan and Çötok (2011) and ‘‘The Brief Resilience Scale-BRS'' (Doğan, 2015) was applied. Descriptive statistics, independent samples ttest, ANOVA and Pearson correlation Analysis were used to analyze data after testing basic assumptions of parametric test. Findings: According to independent samples t-test, no statistically significant difference was found in terms of the mean scores of the participants for the gender variable of "PFLS", "OHQ-SF" and "BRS". According to the results of the ANOVA analysis, it was determined that there was a significant difference according to the mean scores of the welfare level variable for "PFLS". Accordingly, it was determined that the scores of the participants with a good level of well-being were higher than the scores of the participants with a poor level of welfare. According to the results of the analysis, the mean scores of the participants differed statistically according to the welfare level variable of "OHQ-SF" and "BRS", and accordingly, the mean scores of the participants with very good welfare levels compared to the participants with good and poor level of welfare scores were found to be higher. In addition, in the variable of frequency of participation in physical activity of the participants, there was a statistically significant difference according to the mean scores of "PFLS", "OHQ-SF" and "BRS", and the mean scores of the individuals who frequently participated in physical activity compared to those who did not participate at all. were found to be higher than the scores. Finally, there is a statistically significant relationship between "PFLS", "OHQ-SF" and "BRS". Conclusion: As a result, the frequency of participation in physical activity for university students constitutes an important factor in the levels of "PFLS", "OHQ-SF" and "BRS". In general, it can be stated that the increase in perceived freedom in leisure increases the levels of happiness and brief resilience.
