The optimum pH was 7.5 corresponding to the highest bioremoval capacity. The efficiency of bioremediation ranged from 38.1% to 97.6% in media with BBR, and was 76.8% in samples with RBBR. C. vulgaris tolerated temperatures ranging from 25 ◦C to 35 ◦C in media with BBR, but not in media with RBBR. An increase in biomass concentration increased bioremoval efficiencies. The highest yield was 70.8% in media with 38.3 mg/L RBBR and 20% (v/v) biomass at 25 ◦C. The maximum specific dye removal (qm) had its highest value as 49.8 mg/g in media with 59.3 mg/L BBR at 35 ◦C. There are apparently no other studies investigating dye removal by thermotolerant C. vulgaris in media at increasing temperatures. The data showed that C. vulgaris is suitable for effective treatment processes of wastewaters, including dyes.
