Özet

In the present study, the analgesic efficacy, side effects and postoperative recovery characteristics of remifentanyl and alfentanyl were compared in patients undergoing septoplasty under total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA). 30 patients, ASA class I-II between 14-65 years, were studied. 2 mg/kg propofol and 0.1 mg/kg vecuronium were given to both groups for induction of anaesthesia. 150 μg/kg/min propofol were infused in addition to 100% O2 for the maintenance of anaesthesia Then, patients were randomly allocated either to received remifentanyl μg/kg bolus-0.5 μg/kg/min, infusion (Group) I) or alfentanil 20 μg/kg bolus, 2 μg/kg/min infusion (Group II). When the appropriate anaesthesia depth was achieved, the infusion doses of the drugs were reduced; propofol from 150 to 75 μg/kg/min, remifentanyl from 0.5 μg/kg/min to 0.25 μg/kg/min and alfentanyl from 2 to 1 μg/kg/min. When reflex responses were observed for the surgical stimulus, remifentanyl 1 μg/kg and alfentanil 5 μg/kg were administered as bolus doses. Somatic and autonomic reflex responses were lower in remifentanyl group. Antiemetic use, total bolus doses, spontaneous breathing and extubation time, time to response to verbal stimulus, recovery period and postoperative side effects were found similar in both groups. However, mean arterial pressure was decreased significantly comparing to baseline values in remifentanyl group (p
