Background and Design: Mycosis fungoides (MF) is the most common form of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL). Bacterial infections are a common complication of MF/Sezary syndrome (SS). Staphylococcus aureus is the most common causes of skin infections in patients with MF/SS. However, the role of infectious agents and their effects on the clinical course is controversial. In this study, we aimed to assess the prevalence of the colonization of bacterial pathogens among individuals with MF/SS in comparison with control subjects.
