Paliperidone Induced Laryngeal Dystonia: A Case Report Atypical antipsychotics are clinically more preferred than typical antipsychotics regarding selectively binding and separating to dopamine receptors, serotonin receptor antagonism and lower EPS. However lower EPS side effects in some studies should not be interpreted as these agents never lead any EPS side effects. Paliperidone, one of newest novel antipsychotics has been reported for leading akathisia, tardive dyskinesia and dystonia. However there is no reported laryngeal dystonia case related with paliperidone. In this case report, a schizophrenic patient who was treated with paliperidone and who developed laryngeal dystonia at the third day of treatment is presented.
