Özet

This research was carried out to determine the effects of slow-release SO2 generators on the storability of the grape cultivar Müşküle grown in Turkey. Müşküle was harvested from the Iznik region and transported to cold storage facilities at the University of Ankara, Faculty of Agriculture in the Department of Horticulture, After transport, the grapes were -recooled, and slow-release SO2 generators were placed in the boxes. Grapes were stored at 0°C with 90% to 95% relative humidity. The experiment was conducted according to randomized plot design. Appearance, flavor, stem and berry color, total soluble solids content, titratable acidity, SO2 resiude, decay rate, and weight loss were measured at 15-day intervals in order to determine the effects of slow-release SO2 generators on the storability of Müşküle. The results show that Müşküle can be well stored for 120 days with slow-release SO2 generators + unperforated polyethylene (6-, 8-kg fruit/box) as well as with slow-release SO2 generators + perforated polyethylene (10 kg treatments).
