He was born in Bitlis (1969). He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Divinity (1992).
He completed his Master's degree with his thesis on "Metaphor in Islamic Thought" (1994) in the field of Islamic Philosophy.
He also completed his PhD at Ankara University with his work titled "Knowledge and Freedom in Islamic Moral Philosophy" (2000).
He became an associate professor (2008) and a full professor (2013) at the same university's Faculty of Divinity
He has served as a visiting faculty member in Kyrgyzstan, Romania, Italy, and Kazakhstan.
As of 2025, he has published 8 books, 42 book chapters, served as editor for 2 works, and authored 53 articles and 77 conference papers related to his field.He currently serves as a faculty member in the Department of Islamic Philosophy at Ankara University Faculty of Divinity. Additionally, he was a core member of the Science Board at the Atatürk Culture, Language, and History High Council, Atatürk Culture Center.(2018-2024)
