He was born in Bitlis in 1969.
He graduated from the Faculty of Divinity at Ankara University in 1992.
Following his graduation, he worked as a specialist in the Department of History at Bilkent University between 1993 and 1994.
He completed his Master’s degree in Islamic Philosophy at Ankara University in 1994, with a thesis titled “Metaphor in Islamic Thought.” He subsequently earned his PhD from the same university in 2000 with his dissertation, “Knowledge and Freedom in Islamic Moral Philosophy.”
He was appointed Associate Professor in 2008 and promoted to Full Professor in 2013 at Ankara University Faculty of Divinity.
He has served as a visiting faculty member in Kyrgyzstan, Romania, Italy, and Kazakhstan, contributing to international academic exchange.
His scholarly work includes numerous books, book chapters, edited volumes, articles, and conference papers in the field of Islamic philosophy.
He currently serves as a faculty member in the Department of Islamic Philosophy at Ankara University Faculty of Divinity. In addition, he was a core member of the Science Board of the Atatürk Culture Center under the Atatürk Culture, Language and History High Council between 2018 and 2024.
