TURK GOGUS KALP DAMAR CERRAHISI DERGISI-TURKISH JOURNAL OF THORACIC AND CARDIOVASCULAR SURGERY, cilt.21, sa.2, ss.527-530, 2013 (SCI-Expanded)
Penetrating chest traumas account for 25-30% of all thoracic traumas. Endobronchial foreign bodies play a role in the etiology of bronchiectasis rarely. A 67-year-old male patient, who had a gunshot injury 28 years ago, was followed as asymptomatic for a long time and scheduled surgical approach was delayed due to his comorbidities after the symptoms appeared. Formation of bronchiectatic areas as a result of gunshot wounds is rare in the long-term. It is critical to determine the time of surgery and indication as a treatment of choice to reduce morbidity and mortality.
