Abstract

Tumors arising from the smooth muscle of the duodenum and small bowel are considerably rarer than epithelial malignancies. The presenting symptoms of such tumors show wide variation and make diagnosis difficult. Their tendency to grow towards the serosal surface limit conventional radiological and endoscopic diagnosis. In this report, a 37 year-old man with recurrent gastrointestinal bleeding, diagnosed to have a leiomyoma of the duodenojejunal junction is presented.
