Abstract

In this research, 2-(p-chlorophenoxy)methyl-5-(p-chlorophenoxy) acetamidobenzoxazole was synthesized by condensing of 2,4-diaminophenol with p-chlorophenoxyacetic acid in presence of trimethysilylpolyphosphate ester (PPSE). Its structure was elucidated by using IR, 1H NMR and mass analysis methods. The antimicrobial activity of the compound against some Gram-positive, Gram-negative bacteria and Candida albicans and their isolates were determined. The observed Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) values of the compound was compared to some antibacterial and antifungal drugs.
