Abstract

Effects of clomiphene citrate (CC) doses 2.5 and 5 μg/gr body weight on ovulation, implantation rate, fetal outcome and chromosomes of 120 female mice were evaluated in this study. No structural and/or numerical chromosomal aberrations and morphological abnormality of the newborn mice were observed in both doses. CC, administered on the mating and the consecutive days completely inhibited the gestation while implantation rates and number of newborns decreased significantly as the dose increased. However we did not observe any adverse effect of CC on fetal growth and development.
