Born in Ankara in 1978, Dr. Pelin Kılıç received her pharmacy and pharmacology
master's degrees from Gazi University and her doctorate in forensic toxicology
from Ankara University. She conducted gene technology research at INSERM in
France. Then, between 2004-2016, she contributed to establishing Türkiye's
regulatory framework for advanced therapy medical products at the Turkish
Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TİTCK) during her duties as a government
officer. She then served as the Stem Cell Institute Quality Coordinator from
2017, when she first started her academic studies, until 2022. She still works
as an academician, researcher, and faculty member in stem cell and regenerative
medicine at the same Institute. Meanwhile, as the founder of HücreCELL®️
Biotechnology, she mentors future scientists at Ankara University Stem Cell
Institute. She continues various R&D studies, such as investigating the
molecular mechanisms for elucidating diabetes and associated cardiovascular
complications through iPSC-based disease models, developing a breast cancer
pre-screening kit with extracellular vesicle-defined biosensor systems, and
upstream and downstream process engineering of cellular therapeutics.
