Dr. Pelin Kılıç was born in Ankara in 1978. She earned her undergraduate degree in pharmacy, and thereafter earned her Master's degree in pharmacology from Gazi University, and her PhD degree in forensic toxicology from Ankara University. She conducted gene technology research at INSERM France in 2009 as a visiting scholar. Between 2004 and 2016, she contributed to establishing Türkiye's regulatory framework for advanced therapy medicinal products at the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TİTCK) during her tenure as a government officer. She then served as Quality Coordinator at Ankara University Stem Cell Institute from 2017, when she first started her academic studies, until 2022. She continues to work as an academician, researcher, and faculty member in stem cell and regenerative medicine at the same Institute. Meanwhile, as the founder of HücreCELL®️ Biotechnology, she mentors future scientists. She continues various R&D studies, such as investigating the molecular mechanisms for elucidating diabetes and associated cardiovascular complications through iPSC-based disease models, developing cancer pre-screening kits with extracellular vesicle-defined biosensor systems, and upstream and downstream process engineering of cellular therapeutics.
