Prof. ONUR ÇALIŞKAN

Prof. Dr. Onur ÇALIŞKAN was born on a very cold March day in 1975. After completing his primary education at Çalışanlar Primary School, located in one of Ankara's most distinguished neighborhoods, he earned a scholarship to attend Ankara College through the Anatolian High Schools exam. He completed his middle and high school education at Ankara College and pursued his undergraduate studies in the Department of Geography at Ankara University's Faculty of Language, History, and Geography. By 2008, he had completed his Master's degree, and in 2012, he earned his Ph.D.

In 2005, he began his career as a research assistant at Ankara University's Faculty of Educational Sciences. He was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2013, Associate Professor in 2017, and achieved the title of Professor in 2024.

Dr. ÇALIŞKAN is an active member of numerous national and international scientific associations. He has worked on many projects supported by TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) and university resources. His extensive contributions include various project and journal reviews, numerous scientific congress presentations, and academic publications. His research interests include environmental education, fieldwork in education, urban climate, bioclimatology, and glacial and periglacial geomorphology.
