Assoc. Prof. Gülnihal Özcan received her MD from Hacettepe University and completed her Pharmacology residency at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine. She completed public service at the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Health. She explored bioinformatics and systems biology through a special student program in Physics and Biomedical Engineering PhD program at Middle East Technical University. She conducted her postdoctoral studies at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. In 2017, she established her research group in Cancer Systems Pharmacology at Koç University. Her team investigates how cancer cells reprogram their signaling networks to evade treatment and explores strategies to reverse therapy resistance. Using machine learning and AI, they analyze multi-omic and single-cell data integrated with time-resolved imaging. In March 2025, she joined Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, where she continues to pursue research at the intersection of cancer biology, data science, and pharmacology.
