Prof. Dr. Fevzi Serkan ÖZDEMİR is a professor of accounting with more than 20 years of academic experience. He specializes in financial accounting, corporate reporting, and sustainability reporting, and has authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles and five books. He currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Accounting and Taxation Studies journal.
Throughout his academic career, he has taught undergraduate and graduate-level courses on financial accounting, reporting standards, and sustainability, and has supervised numerous master’s and doctoral theses. His research primarily focuses on the relationship between sustainability reporting and financial performance, as well as the integration of emerging technologies—such as artificial intelligence—into accounting education.
He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at New York University (NYU), where he takes part in international projects examining the relationship between sustainability performance and financial outcomes. Combining his extensive academic background at Ankara University with his research network in the United States, he builds strong bridges between diverse academic communities.
In addition to his scholarly work, Prof. Dr. ÖZDEMİR is dedicated to fostering critical thinking, ethical decision-making, and global awareness among future accountants who will be sensitive to sustainability challenges.
