Dr. Bahan Yenilmez has completed his undergraduate studies in Business Administration at Hacettepe University in 2013, graduating first in his department and second across the faculty. He went on to obtain an MSc in Accounting and Finance from Hacettepe University in 2015, before being awarded his PhD in Business Administration by Ankara University in 2022. In the same year, he completed a second undergraduate degree at the Faculty of Law of Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University (formerly known as Gazi University), thereby formalising his training in legal studies alongside economics and finance.
Since 2013, he has held the position of Research Assistant in Accounting and Finance at the Faculty of Political Sciences, Ankara University, where he teaches Financial Management, Financial Literacy, The Turkish Tax System and Tax Law at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
His academic interests lie at the intersection of corporate finance, company valuation, banking and financial institutions, investment analysis, international finance, auditing, and tax planning, with a particular emphasis on tax law and fiscal governance. His research agenda also encompasses Ottoman economic and fiscal history, with particular attention to the institutional evolution of taxation, accounting practices, and the formation of long-run state capacity within imperial settings.
He is fluent in English, has intermediate command of German, and possesses a working knowledge of French. His research has appeared in a variety of peer-reviewed academic journals.
