Biography

She was born in 1985 in Izmir. She completed his primary school in Merzifon district of Amasya, secondary school and high school in Ankara, and completed his undergraduate education in Ankara University, Faculty of Science, Department of Mathematics, as a top student of the faculty. She received her master's and doctorate degrees from Ankara University, Institute of Science, Department of Mathematics. She was a visiting researcher for 9 months at the Ohio University Center of Ring Theory and its Applications during her doctorate. With her Ph.D. thesis, she was deemed worthy of the Ankara University Institute of Science Ph.D. Thesis Publication Award.

Burcu Üngör, who started her academic life as a research assistant at Ankara University, Faculty of Science, Department of Mathematics in 2009, worked as an assistant professor in the same department between 2014-2016. She received the title of Associate Professor in 2016 and was appointed as a Professor at Ankara University, Faculty of Science, Department of Mathematics, Section of Algebra and Number Theory in 2021.

She worked as a project manager between 2017-2020 within the scope of TÜBİTAK International Bilateral Cooperation Projects. She is the managing editor of the "International Electronic Journal of Algebra (IEJA)" and the field editor of the "Communications Faculty of Sciences University of Ankara Series A1: Mathematics and Statistics", published by the Ankara University Faculty of Science. She continues to work as a referee in many international journals. She has papers published in international journals within the scope of SCI/SCI-Expanded and gives talks in national/international congresses. Her academic studies are in Module and Ring Theory and Homological Algebra.

In addition to her academic studies, she served as the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science at Ankara University between 09.11.2020-12.11.2024. Moreover, she has been serving as the Head of the Department of Algebra and Number Theory since 11.06.2024.
