He holds a PhD in Nuclear Physics from the University of Liverpool (UK), following his undergraduate studies in Physics at Gazi University, Ankara, Türkiye.
Between 2014 and 2022, he served as a faculty member in the Department of Physics at Ege University, İzmir. During 2016–2017, he was a visiting scientist at INFN–Legnaro (Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare, Italy), where he contributed to the construction of NEDA detector modules.
Since July 2022, he has been serving as an Associate Professor at the Ankara University Institute of Nuclear Sciences. From March 2023 to December 2024, he served as the Acting Director of the Nuclear Energy Research Institute (formerly the Turkish Atomic Energy Agency), overseeing accelerator technologies, research reactors, and ionizing radiation activities. During the same period, he also held several national and international responsibilities, including Head of the Radioactive Waste Management Department, Finance Committee Member to CERN and Finance Committee Member to SESAME (Jordan) on behalf of Türkiye, and Turkish Delegate to SESAME.
He currently serves as the Head of the Nuclear Technology and Research Department at the Ankara University Institute of Nuclear Sciences.
His research focuses on the structure of exotic nuclei, detector systems, radionuclide metrology, and medical physics. He has supervised three MSc students and is currently supervising three MSc and four PhD students.
