Prof. HASAN HÜSEYİN ATAR

Prof. Dr. Hasan Hüseyin ATAR graduated from the Department of Fisheries Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture, Ankara University, in 1986. In 1991, he attended a one-year training course on Coastal Fisheries and Technology in Japan as a JICA scholar.

He completed his master’s and doctoral studies at the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, Ankara University, in 1990 and 1998, respectively. He continued his academic career at the Department of Fisheries Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture, Ankara University, where he served as an Assistant Professor for a period of time. He was appointed Associate Professor in 2004 and Professor in 2009.

Throughout his academic and administrative career, Prof. Dr. Atar has served on numerous faculty committees and was a member of the Faculty Board for three years. He also held several administrative positions, including Director of Technical Affairs at the Faculty of Agriculture, Revolving Fund Coordinator, and Head of the Department of Fisheries Engineering from 2017 to 2020.

He has also served as a Member of the Executive Board of the Ankara University Research Center for Maritime Archaeology and as Director of the Fisheries Research and Application Center. Since 2020, Prof. Dr. Hasan Hüseyin ATAR has been serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at Ankara University.
