Prof. MEHMET ARİF ŞAHİNLİ

I completed my undergraduate education with a scholarship in the Department of Statistics at Hacettepe University, my Master's in Econometrics at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Gazi University, and my PhD in Agricultural Economics at the Faculty of Agriculture at Ankara University in TÜRKİYE. 

Between 2002-2003, I received official statistics training (Modules on Core Official Statistics) at the United Nations Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific (UNSIAP) in Tokyo, Japan. 

I have advanced level proficiency in English, with certifications in YDS and YÖKDİL (English Exam. in TÜRKİYE), IELTS (British Council-2012), and TOEFL (Turkish-American Association-2003). 

I have 89 publications in national/international indexed journals. I have participated in international and national conferences. I am the author of two books titled "Econometrics and Agricultural Economics Statistics." “Research methods” book will be published in August.

I successfully completed project work as the project leader in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry’s project "Impact Analysis of Drip Irrigation Support in Turkey," as a project coordinator in two BAP projects, as a project leader in one BAP project, and as a research assistant in two other BAP projects.

I served as an editorial board member for journals such as the Asian Journal of Agricultural Extension Economic Sociology, Food Science Nutrition Technology, American Journal of Environmental Engineering and Science, International Journal of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, and International Journal of Economic Theory and Application, and as a secretary for the Statistics Research Journal.

I have done a large number of peer reviews for SCI/SCI-E journals and other international and national journals, and I currently serve as a referee for several journals, as well as an external consultant and panelist for projects submitted to TÜBİTAK.

I still teach courses such as Economics (in English) at the undergraduate level in Agricultural Sciences (AGR), Agricultural Economics & Management (in English), Econometrics, Finance, Economics (for the Dairy Technology and Field Crops departments), Agricultural Economics and Business Management, and Macroeconomics. At the Master's level, I teach Microeconomic Analyses and Research Methods, and at the PhD level, I teach Econometrics Principles.
