CONDUCTOR DİLRUBA AMANULLAEVA’S BACKGROUND

Dilruba Amanullaeva is a national of Uzbekistan (of Turkish origin), born in 1967 in Tashkent as a child of a family of artists. Her father carries  out the duty of the Director of Music Department at Tashkent Nizami University. Her mother is a faculty member in the department of Uzbek Classical Music Department at AŞRAFİ Tashkent Conservatory of State. Her sister is a composer and state artist. She is also the head of the Vocal Music Branch of the Department of Opera at AŞRAFİ Tashkent Conservatory of State.

 Amanullaeva, who began her music training at the age of five with viola and piano, had been awarded with 11 years of education at the Department of Viola at Uzbekistan State Uspensky Music School for Gifted Children between the years of 1975-1986, and at the age of 12 she entered the Choir Conductor Department and completed her education ranking first of her class with Excellent Degree. During this period, she gave viola concerts in the formal U.S.S.R.

Between 1986-1994, she completed her bachelor’s, master’s and PhD education ranking first of her class with excellent degree and she qualified for taking the Red Diploma. During her education, she worked with U.S.S.R. state artists; Conductor Prof. A. Vasilyeva, N. Kloz and Prof. V. Chernushenko.

In 1991, she was awarded the second prize in the International Conductor Competition.

In 1993, she was assigned as the composer of Taşkent State Radio and Television Polyphonic Choir. She gave concerts in and out of the country with this choir.

In 1993,  she received courses for orchestral conductorship from the Sankt-Petersburg Conservatory State Artist Y. Timirkanov.

In 1994, she began as a faculty member of the Department of Choir Conductorship at Taşkent Conservatory of State.

At the same year, she was assigned as the Conductor of the Chamber Orchestra at the Taşkent State Radio and Television. She gave concerts in Ukraine, Moscow, Latvia, Bulgaria and Romania with this orchestra.

In 1995, she was invited to Turkey by the President of the Turkish Republic to take a task. She began her task as the Assistant Conductor of Polyphonic Choir of the Turkish Ministry of Culture.

 Between 1995-1997, she carried out her duties as the conductor of Polyphonic Choir of the Turkish Ministry of Culture, besides being a faculty member and a choir conductor at the Department of State Conservatory at Hacettepe University. She also worked as a choir, vocal and piano teacher at the High School of Fine Arts. At the same period, she gave concerts with Conductor Prof. Hikmet Şimşek in the concert halls of CSO and Bilkent University.  

In 1997, a series of TV programs organized by the Turkish Radio Television Institution were made with the Polyphonic Youth Choir of Ministry of Culture. A number of programs were made about the artist by the TRT1 and TRT2 which are as follows:

“Towards the Evening” (1995,1997,1999), “Good Morning” (1995), “Friend’s Touch” (2007), besides “We are not Strangers” (2011) by the TRT AVAZ.

Between 1997-1999, she took on the duty of founding the Polyphonic Choir of Ankara University with the support of Prof. Günal Akbay, the rector of Ankara University and the state artist Prof. Hikmet Şimşek and she gave domestic concerts with this choir. With this choir, she participated in the Festival of Turkish Choirs organized by Turkish Polyphonic Choir Association and she was awarded with various prizes.

In 1999, State Conservatory of Ankara University was founded under the supervision of the Rector of Ankara University Prof. Günal Akbay and the state artist Prof. Hikmet Şimşek. Amanullaeva gave her support during the foundation process and was invited to the conservatory as the first faculty member.

In 2000, she gave Master Classes on the Choir Management Techniques at the Conservatory of New York Princeton University in the U.S.A., at the National Symposium of Choir Conductorship held in the Department of Music Education at Gazi University and at the Department of Music at Erciyes University.

In 2001, she participated in the Festival of Turkish Choirs with the Department of Opera-Choir at the State Conservatory of Ankara University and she was awarded with CSO jury’s special prize.

In 2007, the Year-End Choir Concert performed in the Farabi Hall at the Faculty of Languages, History and Geography of Ankara University was recorded by TRT1 and broadcasted in the “From the Concert Halls” Program.

Newspapers like Hürriyet, Milliyet and Daily News published articles about her success.

In 2008, she managed the Year-End Choir Concert held at Gazi university Department of Music.

At the same year, she gave a concert for the 8^th Anniversary of Turkish Armed Froces Rehabilitation and Care Center.

She also participated in the 10 December Ceremony carried out by Turkish Veteran Soldiers Foundation.   

Between 2010-2012, she gave concerts with the Turkish Armed Forces Band and the Choir of Department of Opera-Choir at Ankara University in the Band Schools, ODTÜ Music Festivals, Pamukkale University, Denizli Music Festival, Adana Sabancı Culture Center, Turkish Army Forces 18 March Çanakkale Martyrs’ Commemoration, 2010 GraduATİON Ceremony of the Conservatory, GAZİ University, the Turkish General Staff for Foreign Attaches, 75^th Anniversary of DTCF.

Between 1997-2010, she served Ankara University by giving 10 choir concerts at the foundation and diploma ceremonies of the faculties, graduate schools and institutes, the end-of-semester and beginning-of-semester ceremoınies of Ankara University, in and out of Ankara province.

Dilruba Amanullaeva continues to carry out her duties as a faculty member and choir conductor at Anakara University Conservatory, Depertment of Opera-Choir  under the branch of Choir.
