Özet:Bu çalışmada yaratıcı drama alanının öncülerinden olan H. Caldwell Cook'un drama yaklaşımının ve drama alanına getirdiği katkıların incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman incelemesi çalışma türünde gerçekleştirilen araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak H. Caldwell Cook'a ilişkin dokümanlardan yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak 15 farklı doküman incelenmiştir. İncelenen dökümanların biri H. Caldwell Cook tarafından yazılmış kitabı, 14'ü ise başka araştırmacı ve alan uzmanlarının Cook'a ilişkin yaptığı çalışmalardan oluşmuştur. Araştırmaya ilişkin elde edilen veriler çözümlenmiş, verilerin çözümlenmesinde betimsel analizden yararlanılmıştır. Bu araştırmadan elde edilen bulgular, H. Caldwell Cook'un, öğrencilerin kendiliğindenliğine saygı duyan, proaktif tiyatro yapımı için onlara "alan", "özgürlük" ve "kolaylık" sağlayan, okulun kendi içindeki dünyasında toplumsal oluşumun yetkilisi olarak görülmüş öğrenci merkezli öğretimi üzerine bir uygulama modeli ortaya koyduğunu göstermektedir. Cook'a ve Cook'un drama anlayışına yönelik çalışmaların, konulu atölyelerin, uygulamaların yapılmasıyla eğitimin tarihsel döngüsü araştırılıp, anlamlandırılabilir. Süreç içinde değişen anlayış ve kavramların drama eğitmenlerini nasıl etkilediğini betimleyebilmeyi sağlayabilir. Eğitim ve dramanın değişim ve gelişim süreci etkileşimleri incelenebilir. The purpose of this study is to search the contribution of H. Caldwell Cook's unique approachment which were developed by him for the field of drama in education. Cook is one of the pioneers's in the world for the field of drama in education. In this study, documents survey and whole-structured -biographical study, which is a type of method for making qualitative research were used by the researcher. Whole-structured interview, documents survey were used for data collection by the researcher for this study. One of the scanned documents were written by H. Caldwell Cook, the other fifteen documents were written about him by the other experts and researchers in the field. For analyzing the data, the researcher translated documents from English to Turkish. While analyzing data, the researchers used the design of content analysis. The findings of this research are based on the student-centered teaching of H. Caldwell Cook, who respects the spontaneity of the students and provides them with "space", "freedom" and "convenience for a proactive theater production, and is regarded as the authority of social formation in the school's world. show that the application model. The historical cycle of education can be explored and made meaningful by conducting studies, workshops and applications aimed at Cook and the drama understanding of Cook. Students will be able to describe how changing concepts and concepts affect drama instructors. The interactions of change and development process of education and drama can be examined.
