Bu çalışma, Arap edebiyatının seküler yazarlarından Farah Antûn’un tarihî romanını incelemektedir. Bu tarihî romanın adı Urşelimu’l-Cedîde(Yeni Kudüs)’tür. Bir giriş ve iki bölümden oluşmaktadır.Giriş bölümünde, Tarihî Roman, Arap edebiyatında tarihî roman incelendi.Birinci Bölümde, Farah Antûn’un hayatı, Edebî kişiliği, Farah Antûn’un üslubu, Farah Antûn’un eserleri, Etkilendiği kişiler, Arap milliyetçiliği ve Farah Antûn gibi konulara değinildi. İkinci bölümde Urşelimu’l-Cedîde, tema , kişiler, mekân, romandaki tarihî unsurlar incelenirken, sonuç olarak Farah Antûn’un tarihî romanı tarihî ve edebî açıdan değerlendirildi.AbstractThis study explains the historical novel of Farah Antûn who is a secular writer of modern Arabic literature. The name of this historical novel is Urşelimu’l- Cedîde (New Jerusalem). In the introduction chapter the subjects such as historical novel, the historical novel in Arabic literature and the aim of historical novels were studied. In the first chapter, the life of Farah Antûn, his literary personality, the style of Farah Antûn, the works of Farah Antûn, the persons Farah Antûn affected by, as well as Arabic nationalism and Farah Antûn were inspected. As for the second chapter, Urşelimu’l- Cedide, the theme, characters, the place, historical elements in the novel were studied, while historical novel of Farah Antûn were evaluated in terms of history and literature.
