Özet:Bu araştırma, hem Kıbrıs’taki milliyetçilikleri düşünsel ve kavramsal algı düzeyleri çerçevesinde karşılaştırmalı olarak ele alması hem de Kıbrıs sorununa çözüm olarak sunulan “Kıbrıslı” kimliğinin neden başarısız olduğunu açığa çıkarmaya çalışması açısından Kıbrıs’taki milliyetçilik araştırmaları literatüründe önemli bir boşluğu doldurmayı hedeflemektedir.Bu çalışma, Kıbrıs’taki Helen ve Türk milliyetçiliklerinin inşa süreçlerini, entelektüel gelişimlerini ve kitleselleşme dönemlerini tamamladıkları ve zamanla dönüşerek güçlendikleri, Kıbrıs Rum ve Türk etnik milliyetçilikleri ve Kıbrıslılık bilincinin ise henüz entelektüel düzeyde bile gelişimlerini tamamlayamadıkları ve bu nedenle kitlesel ideolojiler haline dönüşmelerinin mümkün olmadığı tezine dayanmaktadır.Çalışmada öncelikle, Kıbrıs’taki milliyetçiliklerin tarihsel süreç içerisinde ideolojik olarak yaşadığı değişimler, söz konusu milliyetçi ideolojilerin temsilcilerinin yazılı metinlerinin incelenmesi yöntemiyle ele alınacaktır. Yazılı metinler milliyetçiliği güçlendiren tezlerin temel kavramları çerçevesinde incelenecektir.Abstract In this research, it’s intended to fill an important gap in researches on nationalism in Cyprus in terms of both studying in comparison with nationalisms in Cyprus within the framework of the intellectual and conceptual perception levels and trying to display causes on ineffectual of “Cypriotism” offered a solution on Cyprus problem. This study is based on the thesis that Hellenic and Turkish nationalism in Cyprus completed their processes of formation, intellectual developments and massification process and strengthened themselves by transforming over time, whereas Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot ethnic nationalisms and Cypriotism awareness have not fulfilled yet even if the level of their intellectual development and therefore they will not be ideologies of mass. In this thesis, primarily, ideological changes of nationalisms in Cyprus within the historical context will be studied using the method of investigation of texts of the representatives of the nationalist ideologies. Texts will be examined within the framework of the basic concepts of arguments used to strengthen nationalism.
