Özet:ÖZET Çalışma IV Bölümden oluşmaktadır. Birinci bölüm kuramsal çerçeveyi içerir. Bu bölümde tezin anahatları ortaya konmuştur. II. ve İÜ. bölümler literatür taraması ile ilgilidir. Bu bölümlerde daha önce motivasyon konusunda yapılan çalışmalara yer verilmiştir. Ayrıca motivasyonun yabancı dil öğretimindeki yeri ve etkisi de bu bölümlerde anlatılmıştır. Son bölüm ise yapılan anket çalışması neticesinde elde edilen bulgular ve bu bulguların yorumlanmasından oluşur. Tezin ana konusu yabancı dil öğretiminde motivasyonun yeri ve etkileridir. Genel olarak tezde anlatılan, motivasyonun öğrenci başarısı için hayati önem taşıdığıdır. Dil öğrenme süreci boyunca öğrenci motivasyonunu nasıl daha üst seviyelere getirileceği konusu da tezde ele alınmıştır. Sonuç olarak, dil öğrenme sürecinde motivasyonun son derece önemli bir yere sahip olduğu ve içsel olarak motive olan öğrencilerin bu süreçte daha başarılı olduğu fikrine ulaşılmıştır. SUMMARY The work composed of IV chapters. The first chapter includes methodology. In this chapter outline of the thesis has been put out. The IInd and the IIIrd chapters are about the literature review. In these chapters, the place and the effect of motivation in language learning has been told. The final chapter includes the questionnaire and the commentary about the findings. The main subject of the thesis is the place and the effects of motivation in foreign language learning. In general, what is told in the thesis is motivation is crucial for the success of students. Also, the work deals with how to get student motivation higher levels during the language learning process. In conclusion, it has been reached the idea that in language learning process motivation has great impact and intrinsically motivated students become more successful! in this process. 103
