Abstract Acinetobacter related infections in intense care units are substantial causes for morbidity and mortality. Objective of this study is to investigate the integron bearing rates, types and the relation between antibiotic resistance of Acinetobacter spp. strains isolated from various clinical samples. For that purpose, 50 Acinetobacter baumanni strain has been isolated from various clinical isolates between the dates January 2010-February 2010 in Ibn-i Sina Hospital Central Bacteriology Laboratory. It is determined that 17 of the strains (34%) carry integron structure and those integrons are in class I integron structure. On the contrary, when the antibiotic resistance patterns of strains with positive integron or without positive integron had been examined, any significant difference could not be determined. This conclusion may suggest that the searching the integron existence alone for determining bacterial resistance formation might not be accurate.
