Özet:İkinci Dünya Savaşı sonrası Türkiye yeni müttefik arayışlarına girişmiş ve bu konuda adımlar atmaya özen göstermiştir. SSCB'nin savaş sonrası Türkiye'ye karşı tutumunu değiştirmesi ve bazı Türk topraklarını istemesi Türkiye'yi Batı Blok'una yakınlaştırmış ve Batı Blok'unun öncüsü durumundaki ABD safında yer almayı seçmiştir. Bu karar Türkiye'de siyasi olarak DP'nin doğuşu gibi siyasi değişimlere neden olmanın yanında ekonomik olarak da bazı değişimlere sebep olmuştur. CHP ve DP Hükümetleri Batı Blok'una ekonomik entegrasyonu gerçekleştirebilmek amacıyla liberal ekonomik tedbirler ile yabancı sermayeye özel haklar tanıyan yasal düzenlemeleri gerçekleştirmeyi hedeflemiş ve ayrıca 1947 yılında kapitalizmin garantörü durumundaki Bretton Woods sistemine dahil olunmuştur. Bretton Woods sistemine girilmesi ile ekonominin liberalleştirilmesi özellikle Dünya Bankası tarafından her fırsatta dile getirilmiş ve Türkiye'de bu önerileri kusursuz bir şekilde yerine getirmeye çalışmıştır. Ancak alınan bu kararlar CHP ile başlayan DP ile görev olarak uygulanan kalkınma seferberliği adı altında Türkiye'nin plansız bir şekilde borçlanmasına sebep olmuş ve nihayetinde 11 Mayıs 1959 tarihinde borçlarını ödeyemediğini ilan etmesi ile kalkınma seferberliği başarısız bir şekilde sonlanmıştır.AbstractTurkey to seek new allies after the Second World War and the entry has been trying to take steps in this regard.
