Dinlerde Hayat Ağacı, Yüksek Lisans Tezi, Danışman: Prof. Dr. Baki Adam, 138 s. Hayat ağacı, dünya kültürlerinin yaygın sembollerinden biridir ve hayat ağacı hakkında sayısız mit ve efsane geliştirilmiştir. Hayat ağacı birçok mucizeyi gerçekleştir. O üç kozmik âlem arasında bağlantıyı sağlar. O ölümsüzlük ve gençlik için bir kaynaktır. O evler için berekettir ve saadet kaynağıdır. O hastalıklar için bir şifa ve çocuğu olmayan kadınlar için çocuk sahibi olmak için bir umuttur. O bir imtihan unsuru olarak insanların kaderini belirler. Her çeşit iyilik, güzellik ve saadet ondan gelir fakat ona ulaşmak çok zordur. Ona ulaşabilen kimse ölümsüzlüğü elde eder. Bu çalışma giriş bölümü ve üç bölümden oluşmaktadır. Giriş bölümünde kutsal kavramı incelenmiştir. Birinci bölümde ağaçlara atfedilen kutsallık ve bu kutsallığın sebepleri, hayat ağacının sembolik anlamları ve fonksiyonları incelenmiştir. İkinci bölümde eski dinlerde hayat ağacının algılanışı, hayat ağacı ile ilişkili değişik inançlar, uygulamalar, mitler ve efsaneler konu edilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde Yahudilik, Hıristiyanlık ve Müslümanlıkta hayat ağacı ve bu ağacın insanlar üzerindeki etkileri belirtilmiştir. Tree of Life is one of the common religious symbols of the world?s cultures and countless myths and legends have been developed about tree of life. The tree of life realizes a lot of miracles. It provides connections between tree cosmic universes. It is a source for the immortality and youthfulness. It is abundance for houses and a source of felicity. It is a cure for illnesses and a hope for infertile women to have a child. It determines people?s destinies as a component of the examination. All kinds of goodness, beauty and felicity come from it but reaching the tree of life is very hard. If one is able to reach it that gets the immortality. This study consists of introduction and three sections. In the introduction section, the concept of holy is examined. In the first section, holiness attributed to trees and the reasons for this holiness, symbolic meanings and functions of the tree of life are examined. The perception of the tree of life in ancient religions, various believes, exercises, myths and legends related to the tree of life are treated in the second section. In the third section, the tree of life in Judaism, Christianity and Islam and effects of this tree on people are emphasized.
