Tez giriş, iki bölüm ve sonuçtan oluşmaktadır. Giriş kısmında araştırmanın konusu ve problemi, amacı ve önemi, kapsam ve sınırlılıkları ile yöntemi anlatılmaktadır. Birinci bölümde Kur'an metin tarihi konusunda Kitâbu'l-Mesâhif'te işlenen konular ve bu konular hakkında modern dönem araştırmacılarının düşünceleri işlenmiştir. İkinci bölümde kıraat ilmi açısından önemli olan ve Kitâbu'l-Mesâhif'te geçen cem', elaḥrufü's-seba', laḥn gibi kavramlar ve Arthur Jeffery'e yapılan teknik eleştiriler ele alınmıştır. Sonuç kısmında ise eser hakkında genel bir değerlendirme ve Kur'an metin tarihi çalışmaları hakkında bir öneri sunulmuştur. The thesis consists of an introduction, two main chapters and a conclusion. In the introduction, the research's subject, goal, importance, scope, and method are explored. In the first chapter, Kitâbu'l-Mesâhif's subjects are examined in the text history studies of the Qur'an. Contemporary reseachers' thoughts on Kitâbu'l-Mesâhif are investigated. In the second chapter, concepts such as cem', al-ahrufü's-seba', laḥn, which are important for the science of recitation and mentioned in Kitâbu'l-Mesâhif, and technical criticisms toward Arthur Jeffery are discussed. In the conclusion, a general examination of Kitâbu'l-Mesâhif and a suggestion about the text history studies of the Qur'an are presented.
