Özet:ÖZET Planlı biçime odaklanma modelinin İngilizce öğretiminde başarıya etkisi GEZMİŞ CEYHAN, Nejla Doktora Tezi Dilbilim Anabilim Dalı Yabancı Dil Öğretimi Programı Tez DanıĢmanı: Doç. Dr. Dilek PEÇENEK Nisan, 2011, 423 sayfa Planlı Biçime Odaklanma Modelinin etkililiğinin araştırılmasının amaçlandığı bu araştırmada, öncelikle ilköğretim ingilizce Dersi Öğretim Programında ve programın uygulanması aşamasında, söz konusu modelin yerini saptamak amacıyla program değerlendirme çalışması yapılmıştır. Ardından hedef biçimlere yönelik (When-While Clauses ve Present Perfect Tense), Planlı Biçime Odaklanma Modeline uygun olarak geliĢtirilen model, Ankara-ġereflikoçhisar ilçesindeki bir ilköğretim okulunda sekizinci sınıf öğrencilerine uygulanmıĢtır. Öğretim modelinin etkililiği, öntest, sontest ve izleme testleri ile ölçülmüĢtür. Testlerden elde edilen verilerin, istatistiksel olarak incelenmesi sonucunda Planlı Biçime Odaklanma Modelinin • hedef biçimlerin öğrenilmesi ve kullanılması konusunda daha etkili olduğu 421 • hedef biçimlerle ilgili dilbilgisel kuralların öğrenilmesi ve kullanılması konusunda daha etkili olduğu • hedef biçimlerle ilgili okuma becerisinin gelişiminde hem okuduğunu anlama hem de okuduğunu yorumlama konusunda daha etkili olduğu • hedef biçimlerle ilgili yazma becerisinin gelişiminde hem planlı üretim hem de plansız üretim konusunda daha etkili olduğu • hedef biçimlerle ilgili gerçekleştirilen öğrenmenin kalıcı olmasını daha fazla sağladığı anlaşılmıştır. Dr. Dilek PEÇENEK April, 2011, 423 pages It is aimed to investigate the efficiency of Planned Focus on Form in this study. Firstly, a curriculum evaluation was made in order to identify whether English Language Curriculum for Primary Education and its applicants contained the principles of Planned Focus on Form. Then, a language teaching model developed on the basis of Planned Focus on Form was conducted in eighth grade class at a secondary school in Ankara-ġereflikoçhisar. The target forms of this study are When-While Clauses and Present Perfect Tense in English. The effectiveness of treatment procedure was measured with the pretests, posttests and follow-up posttests. At the end of the statistically analysis of the data obtained from the tests; it is concluded that Planned Focus on Form • is more efficient in learning and using of the target forms. 423 • is more efficient in learning and using grammatical rules of target forms. • is more efficient in comprehension and interpretation of target forms in reading skills. • is more efficient in planned and unplanned production of target forms in writing skills. • is more efficient in retention of target forms which are learned.
