Özet:Mehmet Sadettin Evrin, Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun son döneminde yaşamış, Cumhuriyet'in ilanına, dolayısıyla bir imparatorluğun bitişine, bir ulus devletinin kuruluşuna tanıklık etmiş ve tümgenerallik rütbesine kadar yükselmiş bir askerdir. Evrin, aynı zamanda Osmanlı'da yaşadığı dönemden itibaren vefatına kadar tasavvufla ilgilenmiş ve çeşitli ekollere bağlanmıştır. Tekkelerin kapatılmadığı dolayısıyla tarikatların yasak olmadığı dönemde önce Nakşîliğe ardından Mevlevîliğe intisap etmiştir. Tarikatlar yasaklandıktan sonra ise kendisine yeni bir yol bulmuştur. Bu yol, özel kıyafetleri olmayan, toplanmak için özel bir mekâna ihtiyaç duymayan Melâmîlik olmuştur. Bu araştırma ile M.Sadettin Evrin'in hayatı, eserleri, Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı'nda yürüttüğü görevleri ve tasavvuf anlayışı hakkında bilgi vermeye çalıştık. Giriş ve iki bölümden oluşan bu çalışmanın giriş bölümünde M.Sadettin Evrin'in yaşamış olduğu dönem siyasi ve toplumsal açılardan açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. Birinci bölümde, M.Sadettin Evrin'in hayatı, askeriyede aldığı görevler, Yüksek İslam Enstitüsü'nde hocalığı, Diyanet İşleri Başkan Yardımcılığı'na getirilişi Diyanet bünyesinde yaptığı çalışmalar ve eserleri hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. Evrin'in dini ve toplumsal meseleler hakkındaki görüşleri ve Evrin'e yapılan eleştiriler de yine bu bölüm içerisinde yer almıştır. İkinci bölümde ise, M.Sadettin Evrin'in tasavvuf hakkındaki genel görüşleri ve tasavvuf kavramlarına yaklaşımı açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. Evrin, hem yüksek rütbeli bir asker hem de mutasavvıf kişiliği ile Cumhuriyet Dönemi'nde yaşamış ender şahsiyetlerden biridir. Fikirleri ve verdiği eserlerle de yakın tarihimize ışık tutan Evrin'in tasavvufa yaklaşımı ve tasavvufî fikirleri tasavvuf tarihimize katkı sağlayacak niteliktedirAbstractMehmet Sadettin of Evrin was a soldier, who lived during the late Ottoman Empire, the proclamation of the Republic, and thus to the end of an empire, has witnessed the establishment of a nation-state and rose to the rank of major general. Evrin, also lived in the Ottoman Empire from the period up to his death, was interested in mysticism and was connected to the various schools. In the period before the closure of the lodges and the memberships to the sects were banned, he was affiliated with the Mevlevî and then, with the Nakşibendî sects of sufism. After the banning of religious sects, he has found a new way to him. This way has been Melâmi sect which has no special attire and no need to convene a special space. Through this research, we aimed at giving information about M.Sadettin Evrin's life, his works, and his role in the Department of Religious Affairs and tried to describe his way of understanding of Sufism.This study consists of an introductory and two main parts. In the introduction part, we attempt to explain the political and social aspects in which M. Sadettin Evrin lived in. In the first part, we give information about the life of M. Sadettin Evrin, his tasks in the military, his lectureship at the Islamic Institute of Religious Affairs, his rising to power as a Vice President of Department of Religious Affairs and his studies and works on-site. In the second part, we try to explain M.Sadettin Evrin's general views on the evolution of Sufism and his Sufi approach to the concepts.Evrin is one of the rare personalities who lived during the reign of the Republic with his a high-ranking military personality as well as a mystic. Apart from his ideas and works that shed light to our recent history, his approach to Sufism and his Sufi mystical ideas are likely to contribute to our history of Sufism.
